The Adobe Flash Player Update Service (FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe) included with the Flash Player is set to run once per day if Flash Player has been configured during installation to install updates automatically when available. During our testing period, Adobe Flash Player managed to play all flash videos without any problems. In order to provide a smooth and pleasant experience, Adobe Flash Player takes advantage of the native 64-bit support of browsers and operating systems.

Description

This update resolves the 'Plugin Failure' issue in Flash Player for Mac.

Important Notes:

  • This update is applicable to Flash Player 13.0.x, 12.0.x, 11.9.x, 11.8.x, and to 11.7.x version 11.7.700.224 and lower. It is not applicable to Flash Player 11.7.x extended support version 11.7.700.232 and higher.
  • By default, deployment will automatically update Adobe Flash Player.
  • Use the download only option to deploy the installer to the agent's temporary directory (by default, '/tmp/{Agent GUID}'). An administrator may then manually install the update.

    Adobe has released security updates for Adobe Flash Player 13.0.0.206 and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh and Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.356 and earlier versions for Linux. These updates address vulnerabilities that could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. Adobe recommends users update their product installations to the latest versions:

    • Users of Adobe Flash Player 13.0.0.206 and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh should update to Adobe Flash Player 13.0.0.214.
    • Users of Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.356 and earlier versions for Linux should update to Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.359.
    • Adobe Flash Player 13.0.0.206 installed with Google Chrome will automatically be updated to the latest Google Chrome version, which will include Adobe Flash Player 13.0.0.214 for Windows, Macintosh and Linux.
